ITINERARY

DAY 01: ARRIVAL LIMA
- Reception at the Lima Airport and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima.
- Overnight.

DAY 02: LIMA
- In the morning Lima City Tour. We will enjoy an interesting walk for the City of Lima. Our tour presents the best combination in the diverse attractiveness of Lima in their three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary. Residential areas, The Huaca Pucllana, the Museum of Archaeology and the Historical Center of Lima are some places that we will visit in this journey.
- Return to the hotel. Free Afternoon. Overnight.

DAY 03: LIMA / PUERTO MALDONADO
- Breakfast.
- Transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to Puerto Maldonado.
- Upon arrival assistance and transfer to the river port on the Madre de Dios River. A 25 minutes journey down the Madre de Dios River by motor canoe brings you to the end of the trail in to Sandoval Lake Lodge. From here the trail takes you on a 2-mile walk/or rickshaw ride through secondary forest, until we reach a small canal where we board canoes and are paddled 220 yards through a flooded forest of 100-foot tall Mauritia palms. As the canal opens onto the shimmering surface of the lake, we transfer to a catamaran and are leisurely paddled across half the lake to the lodge.
- After lunch and a brief rest to avoid the early afternoon heat, we once again board the catamaran and set off to explore the entire west end of the lake. Here, in the flooded palm forest we drift to the sounds of hundreds of Red-Bellied Macaws as they return to the palm forest for the night. We return to the lodge around nightfall for dinner.
- After dinner we will return to the canoes to look for the large and extremely rare Black Caimans. If it is a clear starlit night, we will also be able to float in the middle of the lake and marvel at the brillance of the sky.

DAY 04: SANDOVAL LAKE LODGE
- A pre-dawn wake-up call will enable us to be on the lake for sunrise and a hopeful encounter with the family of Giant Otters which frequent the lake and are most active at this time of day. Most of the fish-eating water birds around the lake actively fish in the early morning as well, and this outing should provide excellent views, and photographs, of the prehistoric- looking Hoatzins.
- After returning for a late breakfast we set off into the cool understory of the tall virgin forest near the lake to see some towering wild Brazil Nut trees and a demonstration of how our hosts collect, open and commercialize this important natural product.
- After lunch and an hour or so to relax we once again board the catamaran to explore the eastern part of the lake, where we might see one or more of the five species of monkeys which live in the forest near the lake, such as the Brown Capuchin Monkey.

DAY 05: PUERTO MALDONADO / CUSCO
- After a dawn breakfast we take a final, shorter paddle around the west end of the lake to try and glimpse the Giant Otters before returning to Puerto Maldonado to catch the flight to Cusco.
- Upon arrival at Cusco Airport assistance and transfer to your hotel.
- In the afternoon around 2pm City Tour in Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
- Return to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 06: CUSCO / THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / CUSCO
(This Tour is available just on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays)
- Breakfast.
- FULL Day excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas". This Tour includes a Visit to the Chinchero Market, the Ollantaytambo Inca Fortress and Pisac colorful Handcraft Market.
- Buffet Lunch is included a local countryside restaurant.
- Return to the hotel in Cusco. Overnight.

DAY 07: CUSCO / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO
- Breakfast.
- Early in the morning around before 6am transfer to Cusco Train Station for a 3 ½ hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
- Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes Station, you will make the 30-minute motor coach ascent to the "Lost City of the Incas".
- Guided visit around 3 hours, during which time our guide explains the astounding degree of technology achieved by the builders of this famous site.
- Lunch at a local restaurant in Aguas Calientes.
- In the afternoon return to Cusco.
The mid-afternoon train takes you back to Cusco.
- Assistance and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.

DAY 08: CUSCO / PUNO
- Breakfast.
- Early in the morning transfer to the bus station to board the bus to Puno. During the itinerary you will have the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful landscapes that these destinations like the Church of Andahuaylillas, Raqchi and Pucara surround. Lunch on board. (9 hours of trip)
- Upon arrival assistance and transfer to the selected hotel. Overnight.

DAY 09: FULL DAY: UROS & TAQUILE ISLAND
- Breakfast.
- All day excursion on Lake Titicaca. Travel by motor launch to visit the floating Islands of Uros and the weaving island of Taquile (3,810m / 5,900 ft above sea level). The islands has great ecological and interest. The people continue living according to your old traditions and Inca laws: with manifestations of manners, religious and folkloric rituals.
- After a delicious Typical Lunch, we will have two free hours to take panoramic views
- Return to Puno and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 10: PUNO - SILLUSTANI / LIMA
- Breakfast.
- Transfer of the hotel to visit the archaeological Center of Sillustani. Located 20 miles from Puno, Sillustani is a great necropolis or burial site on the banks of Lake Umayo. The chullpas, or stone towers, are gigantic funeral monuments built by the Kolla people. They are either square or round and house the remains of the nobility, who are buried in family groups.
- After this visit transfer to the Puno Airport (in Juliaca).
- Upon arrival in Lima Airport assistance and transfer to the selected hotel. Overnight.

DAY 11: LIMA /…
- Transfer to Lima Airport to board your International Flight.
